I recall an ST function, around the fire after some drinks. Question was posed as to whom should be banned, if given the choice.

Remember a few years back when the summitpost.com moderators started banning people left and right until all their active posters had been banned or left on their own?
Summitpost used to be real active, but it became a ghost town. I just visited, and it still is.
When that happened I laughed and said it would never happen to Supertopo.

This would be a bummer, but Hank has more then once said he has thought about leaving the forum.
Maybe someone who knows Hank could email him and ask him. I would certainly miss having him around.

The 2009 thread was started by Hankster and appears to be in tact.
That is because Hankster had two threads which breached the 300 post historical limit. His profile is saved along with the Sobriety and Hottest threads. But that only counts for the first post obviously because every other post he made to those threads is gone.
This is the new "protection" for legacy threads.

Hankster cant be banned? he had not even posted anything other than the very ocasional check in to the sobriety thread in ages. And he was not a fighter. always seemed possitive!

I am guessing he requested it since the one thread he created about sobriety that means a lot to a lot of people (Hank especially) is still intact.
I hope this is the case.
We'll miss you, Hank. You are a real unique and vibrant individual in our community.

So if what I read is true, within several days two people on ST have been banned. I'm not hardcore, don't really know what goes down here, but this does seem a little weird.
