view this technical problem much like you would reaching for the pins and hammer or taking your time and figgerin it out.
reach for the hammer and receive your scorn, or figger it out on yer own...
lol
just kiddin.
the pic must be posted on the net elsewhere. once the pic is posted, RIGHT clic then go to properties to see the url. copy that.
then in this thread write square bracket img] propertie that was previously posted then square bracket /img]
kind of like that....

With Photobucket free account, I found that if I deleted a picture from the site, it vanished from the posting.

That's because ST does not host your pictures. It just lets you point at pictures that are hosted elsewhere. That means that when you look at a post with a picture in it, that picture is being loaded by your web browser from whatever site is hosted on (i.e. photobucket.)
I suspect that the bandwidth costs for chris mac would just be too big to provide hosting of photos himself.

Try this.
Go to photobucket, sign up for free.
Click on choose file, get the pic you want to post. then click Upload it.
A copy of the pic will eventually appear. Copy the third line down and paste it into a reply box on ST.
Submit it, and when you go back in, your picture will be there. Very simple.
