Looking for some info about Frog Buttress in Queensland.
Met a guy this summer who had all sorts of good things to say about it but I wanted some Supertopo advice.

My wife and I spent a day there in '87. Like Devils Tower but not as good. I was scrambling around the top of the cliff and came eye to eye with a 4 ft goana (lizard). Scared the crap out of me.
We were there in December or January and it was hot.
I was drying a t-shirt on our car and someone stole it. A couple of days later I was bouldering in Brisbane and some stole my shoes. What the hell Aussies, desperate for clothes?

My buddy went there and said Frog Buttress was awesome! Great climbing and no one around. I haven't been there my self though. I have spent 4 months climbing in Australia spread out over 5 years, and never had anything stolen, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. The people are great down there and a lot of fun. Don't miss out on Arapiles and the Grampians too!

I've only spent 3 days there, but loved it. Cracks Cracks and more Cracks*.

If you were coming out to Australia for the sole purpose of climbing I'd maybe try timing the trip to hit the Grampians, Mt Araps and maybe Tasmania in Spring/Summer/Autumn instead, but if you're heading to Queensland for some other reasons I'd aim to hit Frog during the Southern hemisphere winter (I was there in July and the weather was perfect).

Perhaps post on Qurank for more detailed advise (plus the PDF of the guide):

*Plus some face climbs that were well above my pay grade.

Awesome, thanks for the info.

I have been to Arapiles and plan to go back.
The Blue Mtns are quite good too.

The Grampians and Mt Buffalo are on the list as well.

Also The Shield of Mt Warning. Supposedly holds the longest route in Australia.

The Lost Boys, put up in '94 by Tim Ball and Miles Bright with some help by the OG HB Matheson.

I will be living in Qld for the next years so Frog Buttress is the closest climbing to Brisbane I believe.

Any other beta is much appreciated, and PHOTOS!

Choss. Save yourself the money and hassle and head to the Tehachapi crags instead.
