Have used both Mekan here in SLC, UT and Rock and Resole in Boulder, CO with very good success. Usually about a week turn around time.

The Rubber Room in Bishop is a pretty good place. My roommate had her's done there and they came back looking great.

Rubberroomresoles.com (Rubber Room) in Bishop does great work. Tony does a first class job with the shoes.

I've always used RubberRoom but recently I've heard Yosemite Bum has better turn around times and comparable quality.

Rock'n'Resole in Boulder and Rubber Room in Bishop both do very good work. Rock'n'Resole is a bit cheaper.

You only resole your shoes once than trash 'em??! You're wasting your $$$. You can probably keep resoling your shoes until the leather disintegrates.

I have used the Rubber Room in Bishop and it was one of the best resoles I have ever had. The turn around time was a little bit slower than I hoped it would be, but the work is quality.

As mentioned above, the Rubber Room is excellent quality, but turnaround time is slow.

Does anyone wash their shoes? What do you do for that pair of shoes that has gone beyond just reeking a bit.

I just got 4 pairs done at Marmot. I had some serious delam problems a while back and went in and talked with them. they used some new glue a while back that didn't cut it - they went back to the tried and true stuff and have been not getting any delam reports. I figured I'd give them another shot.

So far, I'm completely impressed with the job they did on these shoes.

One gripe was that they didn't have one pair ready to go with the rest - and when I came to pick them up 4 days later they still weren't ready and they didn't even call to tell me to hold off on coming in. This after they had the shoe for 2 weeks. I wasn't pleased, but whatever... I had 3 other pair of shoes.

Jason,

Marmot gave me the same excuse they gave you for the sloppy resoling they've done in the past. And the last one they did for me was pretty clean. Unfortunately they used the wrong thickness half-sole.

I guess I've proven that I'll keep going there no matter what those guys do.

poop...get waterchoss to tell you his marmot story. lol. My experience w/ them would suggest that they weren't using a new glue, but a new resoler. You never know if your resoler there just learned last week or has been at it for a while. Marmot's like a box a chocolates...

Barry's in Auburn...Experienced, same price as everyone else, roughly same turn around time, never heard a complaint.

I've had a ton of stuff done by the Rubber Room, and I like their work, but YosemiteBum is even better in my experience. I sent them foot outlines and they re-sized my too-small Kaukulators to fit perfectly to my two different size feet. They re-soled/re-randed some wall boots to burlier-than-new - still pristine after a couple of walls. I've gotten more wear from my Mocasym resoles than even new. They do it all quickly and for a fair price. They're the same guys behind the Evolv shoe line.

My all-time favorite resole was done when I dropped my shoes at Nomad Ventures in J-Tree. I want to say Allen Bartlett was the resoler but I might have the name wrong. It was in the last couple of years. There used to be a woman who did the resoles there and she did an awesome job also, she had the most seductive voice, if anyone knows where she might be now, could you give her my phone number so she could leave me a sultry message telling me my shoes are ready!

Barry's Resoles in Auberry is fantastic. He has resoled my Huecos 4 times over the last couple of years and each time returns my shoes looking brand new. He does it out of his home up near Shaver Lake outside of Fresno.

I believe you are talking about Positive Resoles, i.e Alan Bartlett. Rumor has it he may be selling it though.
I think the woman you are talking about was killed last year in a motorcycle accident in Vegas. Her name was Julie, and owned Red Rock Resoles in Vegas.
