Hey All! It's Friday!
I am planning to visit Yosemite this late October with my wife and son who will be 7 months old. Hopefully, I'll be spending a few days on El Cap and would like a decent place for my family to stay.
Any suggestions? The Ahwahnee is not in our budget and tent camping is not an option. And yes, I know we're gonna die....
Thanks for the help!

Curry. I've stayed there with my family and had fun.

Yosemite Lodge if you want to be in the Valley. Not cheap, but WAY cheaper than the Ahwahnee. If you don't mind driving about half an hour then the Wawona is pretty chill. Big grassy lawns, big shaded decks, a pool. Much more mellow vibe, but you don't get that immediate Valley gratification. Since you have a 7 mo. old, make sure you reserve a room with a bathroom. I've always found Camp Curry and Housekeeping kind of grim.

The Lodge is cheaper than the Ahwanee, but it's basically a Motel 6. I was not impressed. The Wawona is nice and your family would probably enjoy that experience. Also, try the Cedar Lodge. It's outside the park but very nice and right on the river. My wife and I were impressed with the accommodations... Aside from the fact that three women were abducted there in the early 2000's, but that's beside the point.

The lodge or a heated tent cabin at curry.
Or rent an rv with a heater.
All options require finding a space. So take whatever you can get.

Curry is probably cheapest. They do have some actual rooms (not tent cabin) if you book early enough.
