Hi, All.
I'm long retired from climbing but I recently came across my old gear in the attic, including my ancient, 150 ft., white (or it was once!), hawser-laid, nylon rope - along with a Whillans harness and a box full of krabs, slings, nuts, chocks and all the other fun and games. Happy days!
I remember my climbing partner 'wreathing' his rope when we moved on to kernmantel rope but I'm blowed if I can remember how he did it.
I haven't the heart to dump something that gave me so many hours of pleasure here in the U.K. in the Lakes and North Wales. If I could wreath it, I'd hang it on the wall of my den alongside old Abraham photos (e.g. of Napes Needle) and other happy memories.
Can anyone help with clear instructions for a geriatric simpleton?
Fingers crossed.
Eric.

I'm sure a Google search will find what you need. I've seen a lot of sites showing how to make doormats, etc out of cable laid rope.
"wreathing" might not be the best search term. Good luck.
