Matt,

It should be fine. It gets lots of sun, and there's very little snow accumulation at that elevation.

thanks clint!!

trying to decide between this and lurking fear-- do you know about the water condition over there? I heard the topout slab can be bad this time of year.

The El Cap rim is a little out of frame, but there's hardly any snow on the rim at that elevation, and it gets lots of sun.

I'd choose Lurking Fear. It's a great climb, and the approach is a lot shorter than Liberty Cap.

More fun free climbing and nicer views on Liberty Cap. Whatever you do, do not top out Lurking Fear in a snow/rain storm. It really sucks. Have a blast! :)

Liberty cap is the best winter/spring wall in yosemite.

There is a weather halo around the area.

Sun all day long,

For some reason the FA and subsequent retro bolters decided to make the last pitch head straight up a contrived series of overlaps.

The obvious way, and the way you will go if it is wet is up and left at the second bolt. It's 5.6
