Years ago I acquired a small amount of the Burgess Twins' gear that they used here in Yosemite (and elsewhere). I was cleaning up the items last week before catalogging and this piton stood out as superior quality amongst what I acquired from them and better craftmanship than any other piton I have in my collection. -still don't have any DOLT pitons so not comparing to his!

The one in question is the top one:

Looks like a Clog pin, the other pin in the third pic shows "..og" stamped into it.

Clog made hooks in that style. Crap design. The Burgesses evidently never did any hooking. I had one, long ago, never used it, it's likely long since been thrown out.

The pins are Clog, for sure. I do have some that look like those, wider, more rounded than the Chouinards. The eye's on the other side of the pin, so the Clogs and Chouinards don't stack well together.

The Lost Arrow Clogs have beautifully shaped eyes modeled on (or blatantly ripped off from?) Dolt pitons.

I like Clog stuff.

The hexentrics with the inwardly rounded sides, the pins, and twice I took 30' falls self-belaying to a Clog ascender.

Most stupid American climbers don't even know the name or how it relates to the origin of nutting.

... or how it relates to the origin of nutting.

I believe the hooks are CLOG as well the RURP is stamped CLOG..

Thanks for the identification of the piton. Wonder why it's not stamped.

I acquired some of their carabiners too - not CLOG but mostly steel Cassin lockers.
