So, I set out Thursday afternoon for a solo ascent of South Face of Washington Column, the "most popular big wall in Yosemite"...'keg parties on dinner', 'people all over...'.......and I expected to take a number and head to the back of the line and wait my turn. But when I got there, I spent the next two days totally alone. Not a soul in sight, not on the Prow, South Face,.......anywhere. I, at least, expected somebody to be on Dinner Ledge when I rapped the route late this afternoon (Saturday). But nobody around.

So, where is everyone??

It was only in the mid-eighties with partial cloud cover most of the day. And with the wind in the afternoon, it really wasn't all that bad.
I was just expecting to see many more people on the "most popular big wall in the valley".

Yeah, the valley was empty this weekend. We went to climb Fairview and were rained out at 5am so we went to the Valley and got on CPoF only one other party showed up, we saw no other climbers approach for any other route. I also thought that the tourist count was way low. Only a few cars at El Cap meadow, no traffic in the Valley or on the way home! I thought it was great and would love to see the Valley like this all the time.
It was not too hot with the clouds and breeze.
