Hi all,
A party of us are wanting to climb on Conness but on different routes (SW face, and N ridge). Is there a logical place to share a camp for both routes? Is the N ridge e.g. accessible from Alpine Lake skirting the glacier without major detours?
Thanks

Seems like those two routes are on opposite sides. The camping in front of the Southwest face in those high meadows below Conness is better, or at the standard West Ridge bivvy spot at Young Lakes.
I bet someone will offer a more helpful opinion here though...

Lake Roosevelt would be the most scenic basecamp

Lake Roosevelt would be the most scenic basecamp yeah, beautiful place to camp. you could probably work your way north, climb the sw slopes of North Peak, and get on the north ridge of Conness from there.

Thank you all.
Ron, for the SW face party, do you mean cross the glacier to get to the top of Conness E ridge, or circumnavigate Conness all the way from the N (saddle with N Peak) to the SW (anti clockwise, along Roosevelt and then up)?

I've camped at Roosevelt Lake a couple of times. You'll likely have the place to yourself, very beautiful in many ways.
Good for the SW Face for sure. Many moons ago, I did climb a good chunk of the North Ridge route from there. It was inadvertent. :-) Still had fun! Saddlebag is probably the best bet for a split party.
