After watching a group of climbers for several hours, I think it's really hard to climb that thing.
They went up two rope lengths, and came back down.
Then they moved a little to the side; up two rope lengths and had to come back down again.
Then a third try on yet a different corner, same result.
After a fourth try, they retreated to the campground.

Hope you're climbing strong!

Done more routes there and did not summit than almost anywhere I have climbed, probably.
Bring water climb in the shade Ask Frank Devils Towers Lodge for beta. Probably climbed the tower more than anyone else alive.

+ 1 for Frank at Devils Tower Lodge. His place is the the go-to for climbers all over the world. You WILL summit with Frank or the beta he provides and its the nicest least commercial place you'd ever wanna be. Plus he'll tell you all about the native american community there.

One of the nicest guys I have ever met, eternally stoked!

Mountain Project has a good bit of beata on Devils Tower. Enough that a guide isn't super needed.

Frank is a great guy - and a great person to hire as a tower guide. I am not sure if I would be excited to tent camp at his place for two reasons. Difficult to find a flat spot and word on the street is that his place is a bit conservative - not sure how open they are to folks putting down a bunch of beers after climbing.

For flatter and more laid back camping, with plenty of room to spread out, the KOA or the park campground might be better choices.
