Re The Accident on the 'East Buttress'

The Guardian just posted the Park Service Press release. Does anyone know more details? Are we talking about the Steck route? Most the the time as I recall the second isn't really in the leader's fall line so directly?

Read it again John, His partner pulled it off and it fell on him. Not unassisted. A terrible event for all concerned. Condolences to friends and family.
