Dear ST Community,

was wondering if anyone has a trustworthy connection in Dallas, TX, and if they would be willing to put me in touch.

I am desperately trying to get as fast as possible a letter from the HR department of my previous employer mailed to Toronto, Canada. I need it mailed by the fastest service, DHL perhaps, and if there is anyone in Dallas that is willing to help, I am willing to pay you a service fee (75$) in addition to the DHL cost.

After telling the wonderful HR how extremely time sensitive the letter is, and almost begging them to charge my credit card and mail it by DHL, their ultra kind answer was 'I am sorry but the firm policy is to only mail international letters by regular mail...it is going to maybe get to Toronto in 2 weeks' (In my mind I was like 'shit - I need it there in 2 days')

So I am wondering if there is a kind soul in Dallas that would be willing to pick up the letter in person and mail it by DHL. As mentioned already, I am more than happy to pay for the service, and also I need to check first with the wonderful HR that they are ok with giving the letter in hand to a 'friend'.

Thank you!

FYI, the above post might look like a late night spam/scam,
but irene+ is a real climber who's been on supertopo since 2009.
(Sorry, I don't know anyone in Dallas to help).

Yes, irene+ is a 'real climber'...as REAL as you can find them on this planet!

Please help her if you can...she is trying to apply for Canadian residency so she can come back to NAmerica to climb without getting in line for tourist visas till old age.

It might be as easy as calling a courier service in Dallas and having them do it for you. Just a thought and good luck.

Ruppell - The courier idea is a great suggestion.

And yes, Irene is real and a friend of mine currently living the life in Chamonix.

Wait a minute, this has got to be fishy. Why would someone want to leave Cham willingly?

Thank you ST - the courier idea is great, and I will try to make some calls early morning ET time Monday to see if smth can be arranged. (HR left the impression letter would be ready last Friday, but then they started giving me a hard time again, so not sure when finally it will be ready for being sent out.)

Johntp - thank you as well, will get in touch with you directly. It would be great if your family can help, in case the courier thing doesn't work.

Reilly - if you have been born with 1st world citizenship, you can't probably relate to being born in the 2nd or 3rd world...I am not seeking exactly to 'leave Chamonix', but rather, let's call it, 'global mobility'...
