hey there say, all... not sure how to go about this, but here it is...

just kind of take over, for those in the know, as to this fundraiser, and
i will send the painting wherever it should go...

*i may need help for the postage, depending on what other things i am sending out to folks... i get down to 'near zero' by end of the month, so i can't always do the post--it all depends...
it is usually about 8, 10 bucks, least, or 12, 14 most, depending on
the protection frame and how much it weights...

NOW, WARNING--BAD BRUSHES... I AM VERY SORRY...
did not notice how all
the hairs that BROKE OFF the brush i had... they stuck, so,
if you want to help clark, you will be one of those 'rough it' folks, in THIS case...
and, overlook the bits of trail dust, so to speak...

but--it looks great--from a foot away...
honestly, i do say...

you COULD cord-it-off :)
and none would scoff...

or, display by twilight, :) or moonlight, :)
with nary a fright...

i was very sad, but had no way of know, to fix...
and just didn't have the heart, for it--to nix...

well, with this in mind, so you know what you are getting,
HERE IT IS....

hope someone would like it, by bids, or whatever purchase, is best,
for clark:

oil, canvas, 20" by 16"

That's so great, Neebee! Don't think twice about a few brush bristles in the paint. Maybe they can be representational of Clark's beloved dog, who passed a way a few years ago and whose collar he still keeps at hand in his truck as a momento.

I gave Clark a call earlier today, but missed his return call. He did leave a message. He's in Idylwild tonight at least- too hot in Joshua Tree he said.

He said he went climbing today - a three pitch 10.

But as last week was chemo week, it did it's usual and kicked his butt. Even though he can get out and climb, it is still very tiring for him for several days after the chemo.

hey there say, terrie.... thank you for the update... and the share...

my stamp-fairy, her sister had chemo for breast cancer, and got so wiped out, :( sadly, she did not survive, though.. :(

we need to stay in clark's corner and keep up the moral boosts and prayers and all that support as you all are so wonderful to do!

god bless on your road trip, too!!!

The picture deserves to hang in a public place, would be a good tribute, maybe start a tradition? maybe we could combine our bids and agree to hang it somewhere local. I bid 100 towards that goal.

i'll add $60 ... wish i could afford more, but this collective bid could work really well, with enough participants!

hey there say, john bec... that sounds really neat...
never had thought of that...

sounds very good too, kunlun-shan
let's try that then, and see how it goes...

:)

hee hee, course, like terrie said, it perhaps has
his 'memories of sweet dog' on his shirt, etc,
MEANING --those brush hairs... :O

so wonder if it would really be exceptable, though,
as i said, from a distance, you don't see them, :)

A suitable public place... You mean like the Gordon Ranch?

"Hanging in the window at Nomad's would be as good a place as any..."

Not a bad idea...

I agree, that's a nice painting. I agree on a public venue. Nomads in Idyllwild would probably be the most appropriate, but it would be seen more at Nomads in Joshua Tree

Nomads is a great idea, but is there room for it there? I have not been there in a while but it seems like space is "well utilized" for selling merchandise. Would be cool if it could hang at a restaurant, sort of hall of fame, pictures with bios. Would be good for drawing climbers in. Maybe Friends of Joshua Tree could take ownership in case the establishment goes under.

Spoke with Clark yesterday - He is guiding 4 clients on Saturday, another on Sunday(I think) and then road-tripping to Colorado next week.

Cancer can't stop that guy!

And for those who prefer to simply donate to the Fundraiser set up for Clark through Friends of Joshua Tree, the link is on this thread:

Clark is doing a LOT of traveling to and from doctors appointments, and we all know that guiding doesn't pay that much, especially when you're not able to do it in the recovery time after chemo sessions.
