I have been working on this event for several months and was hoping to get one last session with the Great One to discuss his best body of work on America's premier alpine rock wall. I was literally going to send off the artwork for an event poster when I heard the news from Huntley that Layton had passed away.

Steve this is worthy of a video for posterity and additional fund raising. My first ever wall was the Diamond with Chris Landry in the late 60's. I cannot be there but would love a video. Kudos for putting this together. SS

Steve-
Since this will be a Fundraiser for Karen, please plan to "pass the hat" for additional donations to help out. The idea of a professional quality video to be sold for additional funds is a good one. The quality of the speakers presenting makes the $30 donation seem too low, and $30 per session would be more realistic at this point.
Jes' sayin'.
Rodger
P.S. I'll be there.

Dates saved. Sounds like a great excuse to get down to Boulder. Will skip COR the weekend before in order to make this.

Just talked to Karen. She is holding up well.
Quite the lineup, I should drop George a line.
My bet is with this crowd everyone walks out wearing their own shoes,..

I have taken Rodger's advice and set the ticket price for two nights entertainment at $40.
I am still working out the details but I will announce the start of ticket sales early next week if all goes as planned.

Tickets are now on sale at Neptune Mountaineering for $40 for this two-evening benefit event. Limit of 4 per customer. We have only 150 seats available initially.
This is a unique opportunity to meet some of the truly great Colorado climbers and hear about their adventures on the Diamond, most with Layton Kor whose longing for Longs was unrivaled.
All profits from the event will go directly to Layton's family.

Too bad Derek's not around to tell the tale of his solo exploits up on the Diamond.
