Wow! As someone who faced and overcame suicidal ideations, I can always understand the temptation, but it's never too late to redeem what's left as long as you're not looking up at the daisies. Tragic, climber or no.

The scuba gear escape was a little over the top. I have been diving for 25 years and I never kept a tank on a BC in my house, much less in an upstairs bedroom.

What a way to go out. Can't help but think that this guy was a phony and a coward.

Edit: After reading a little bit about him, my instincts have been confirmed.
