I was there in 1985 I think it was, when on New Year's Day they doubled the price of gas - from 6 cents to 12 cents. The whole country was ticked off [but not much]
Probably per litre, not gallon, though.

Hmmmm, I pay 93p a liter, which works out at $6.30 a gallon. Maybe I need to buy my own tanker.

I've no problem with metric conversions but I haven't a clue when it comes to, what are they, guineas, shillings, pounds, p, whatever?
How about a primer?

£1 = $1.78
1 gallon = 3.79 1 liters
I pay 93p for a liter
That works out $6.30 in your money.
