hey tell us about it.

When I start climbing again, I would love to NOT have to mess with any more double rope pile issues.

Someone on the middendorf site seemed to like it a lot.

OK, who knows the link to the big expose on this site?

Maybe someone who read it and has the rope bag knows.

Still waiting on your kind offer to lead on lead, hehe. Looks like you have a year to practice before I could foolow though, DOH!

I have the fish double rope bag. I have't had a chance to use it yet becuase I just got it a few weeks ago and its been raining...yeah, that's the only reason...

But I've used alot of rope bags, and here's what I like about this one so far.

Durability: It has a vinyl coated nylon on the back and bottom pannels, this stuff should wear pretty well against the rock on a wall or if hauling the bag. One thing - I wish the whole bag was made of this, because when it spins in space or rolls across a slab it will wear in the non-nylon areas. But this should be rare.

Hangability: This bag has several "clip in loops" in the middle, and on the ends. This will allow you to really stretch the bag out and the belays and make it very easy to stack lines. And for the lines to feed out. The clip in loops are bomber and there are several.

Haulability: If you clip all of the clip in loops into a biner, the bag will hang perfectly for hauling it up with the rope.

Stackability: This bag has a stif-ish rim to it, so it stays open in bucket shape. Probably even in the wind. Also, this "stiff uppper lip" is bombproof and reinforced, so that this high-wear zone won't wear out as quickly.

Tie-ins: There are tie-in loops on the bottom of the bag for the ends of the rope.

Center Divider: The center divider is a bit lower than the rim of the bag. If you solo with a continuous loop system, this means that you don't have to worry about the joined ends of your rope flopping out of the bag and getting caught on something in the wind. Pretty cool.

Size: You can definately stack 2 70 meters in here, or fat 60s, without having to cram. Very nice.

In all, this rope bag will be optimal for a soloist, one piece of gear doing the job of two. Its probably also nice on partnered climbes.

Other uses: I keep my cams/nuts on one side and my draws/biners/slings on the other side and stuff it in my pack. It prevents tangles and makes me look rad when I am getting ready to lead up a heinous 5.4 (bong, you are goind DOWN!) because even if I suck at free climbing, it is just drippping with bigwall spray! Other than the fact that it is obviously brand new.

Additional FISH plug: Some of you may recall my rivit hanger failure after which I got all "light" and "skeert" and bailed off from 18 pitches up El Cap. It was a swage failure.

I ordered new rivit hangers from FISH (cause I, like, broke all mine) When I got the hangers, they included a broken hanger which FISH used to be sure his machine was calibrated right...it broke at the wire, not the swage, and included the breaking weight, too.

Anyway, sorry to be long winded, its Friday and I have no life. But if I did have one, I'd trust it to my FISH gear.

-Kate.

Thanks Kate, that sounds like a nice thing to have.

Still looking for that link to the bag report on here though. I can't find it. Tried searching on fish rope bag, russ walling rope bad, fish gear rope bag. no luck.

Hey Kate, answer your email, or maybe you are too busy.

Wow fish-boy, how did you post at the same time as me? must be telepathy working.

That double looks pretty nice, how much are they?

I like the name "Double D", or "Two Bagger".

But in keeping with the new, improved, kinder, gentler dirt, and going with the laundry theme, how about "Double Rope Hamper"?

No?

Back to sexual innuendo and overtones then.

Double Rope Humper.

I do continue to crack me up.
