Now, I've never met the man. But 1) So. Cal. boys gotta stick together (in case the wolves make it that far south), and 2) he's too damn generous of a man to let down. So here's what I'll put on the block for him: Alpinist 1-28, 31-36. You can do the math to see how many issues that is. Open auction, post your bid here. I will mail them to you/address of your choice, on my dime [international shipping edit - for shipping outside of US, I'll pick up the U.S. book rate equiv. of the shipping, you pay the rest]. For sending the money, we can work out those details - either to me (and then I will give to Todd), or to Dave Evans, or whatever. [I'm not running some weird scam like that dude from the Bachar auction way back when...]
Or, I can deliver on my convoluted journey back to the homeland this weekend: route is Houston-Tucson-San Diego-Altadena-Mammoth. I would detour as far as ABQ, but I hear you can't get a burger with fries there.
Starts now, my bid at $50. I will throw in a well stroked copy of Onsight #2 as well.

I already have a complete set, and so won't bid. But the set contains 33 out of 35 (now 36) issues, each of which is worth at least $10 IMHO. Plus it wouldn't be hard to pick up the missing two issues, plus Alpinist 0.

JMC: The fact that I live in Canada is a moot point. I'm flying down to California tomorrow and I will be there until January 2. If I win the auction, I'd have you ship it to my relatives' place where I'll be staying.
