Went to the Bucksnort Slabs after a long absence and was surprised to have it to ourselves. Intended to go to Squat Rock and Sphinx Park, but were put off by many Private Property/No Trespassing/No Climbing/etc. signs. Talked to a shopkeeper in Pine and was told the whole area is private property (nothing new there) and the owners don't want any climbers around. I have been out of the loop, but is it possible what was once the world's hardest crack is now out of bounds? At least now I have a good excuse for never climbing it.
Is the new SoPlatte guide out yet?

Courtesy of Access Fund:
6/3/06 -- Sphinx Rock (aka Elephant Rock) in Pinegrove, Colorado, is located on private property. Trespassing for any reason is illegal. Trespassing will now be enforced with the assistance of the local sheriff's office. Violators will be held accountable for towed vehicles, citations, and any legal actions.

Check out Maountain Project for additional information. I believe that Bucksnort is still open, thanks to efforts by the Access Fund.

Jay, you've always made your partners take the oath of tradness. How in the heck do you spell "court echelle?"
Took a closer look at the pic and realized the locale. We'll be there Oct 3 if you're in the neighborhood. I hear the most recent ruckus there is that Superpin is now once again all but bolt free.
