Well, it could be a nervous tic, brought on by some frustrated desire of the ego, or id.

Maybe you should listen to some crappy music with one of your girl friends, and see if that helps.

This suggestion brought to you by Freudians R Us.

Get a tennis ball and roll around your floor on it. Hurts, but it worked for the twitch in my back.

You could also try Hard-core stimulants so your whole body twitches and you don't notice it. You gotta take 'em at the right time though to synchronize the twitching!

Crimper girl, Twitches are normal as long as the area affected don't atrophy. Lay off caffine, sometimes it causes the the chemicals in your synapses to miss fire.Sometimes if you are starting a new med or coming off of an old one twiches occur.rg

Climb some 5.13X routes. The whole body twitch will overcome the side twitch, especially if you take a huge whipper.

Seriously, have you tried a bottle of red wine in a hot tub? Followed by the most relaxing activity you can think of?

LEB-
Muscle relaxant?

CrimperG-
I recommend hard core laughter; check out my bloggish tread "deep space time machine from the mussy nebula" and the end of part one: "Old School Josh Shots" just for a warm up, then get in with the DR Russell Walling(aka:mussy) gang at the Fish compound fer a weekend er two-

You'll be bustin' up so hard that twitch will be belly achin' shredded and booted straight outa yer svelt frame!
Yours,
Tarbust'

LEB,
Way off topic sorta:
I have bruxism, have undergone periodotal surgery, equilibration, nightguard in place, orthodontics underway- My Dentist says bruxism is really not very well understood in terms of etiology, my Ortho recommended some sort of relaxant. I'm in good hands, just interested what you've seen in the lit. per bruxism etiology: I'm skeptical of meds as a treatment.

...back to crimp...

I get that (the twitch, also the grinding, but that's a seperate issue)sometimes after hard (much effort) climbs in related muscles. I always kind of liked it, but it never lasted more than after the next day.
I remember watching the fish's shoulder do that once. "Hey looka that it's moving!"

"And, when other pleasures pale, there is always our somma."

LEB,
Yes my point, direct from the dentist who makes and adjusts the "appliance" (nightguard, like a boxer's mouthguard), is that the etiology of "tooth grinding" is unknown, but that studies do not for instance, purport causal factors to be attributable to such things as stress.

Thanks LEB- its interesting.

Great stuff. Here's my plan for now:

Okay, okay, maybe it's the 6-8 shots of expresso each day. I'll lay off it.

I will consume lots more red wine.

I will get in the hot tub nightly with the red wine.

I will check for breast enlargement while in the tub with red wine.

If you have the enlarged breasts, drinking wine is contra-indicated. But the other measures will be good.

Seriously though, if it is spasms, be sure that you are normally hydrated, and getting normal amounts of potassium, calcium, and glucose.

You also want to make sure not to do things that might cause constriction of the blood vessels, though that is probably pretty secondary.

I kinda hesitate to bring this up, but you could be dead. The post mortal twitch is somewhat common and goes on for awhile. Give it a day or two and see if you notice an unpleasant odor. If so, call 911 and call the police because the above mentioned remedies won't help.

LOL! LEB you never get my jokes. I am guessing crimpie did.

Crimpie, also make sure sodium intake is not too low. Passive light stretching or massage may also offer some relief.

The Ramayana specifically says that if a man experiences a twitch in the right eye then that is a very auspicious sign.

In your case poor crimpie, oh ....... never mind ....
