What ever happened to Gramicci pants with the cuffs on the bottom?

Those were the best. Then all these tards started going street style with no cuffs (that gathered the pant leg so you could sees the feets.

Thx,
Munge

How come all of the pants that I buy these days are different sizes? It says large but it is like + or - or ++ or -- or changes color the first time washed. It ain't like it used to be. I even called and complained about a year ago - they said that they were going through some kind of change 'er somethin'. Man, I hope things work out, cuz I's been through nothing but G’s for just about forever, and my only other solution is Propper camo BDU's!!! Please keep the best like it always has been in the past... the best!!! Remember those lightning shorts?

Guys you speak of some real jewels. The original climbing pant with the cuffs and the lighting bolt shorts!

A little history on those:

John Bachar originally came to us with the Kung Fu pant that we adapted to that cuffed style. It was a classic pant. For sure!

The lighting bolt design came from my original Stonemaster logo that I started before Gramicci back in the early seventies.

I don’t know what to tell you about what’s going on now with everything. I left the company back in 1999. I know they are continuing to try and restructure but it’s been downhill since 2000.

I would keep your eyes peeled on the horizon for something new coming our way!

Mike, thanks for the update. Now I understand…

Got a pair of black street pants on right now… ones that fit… nothing but the best!

One day, during lunch in high school, while wearing a pair of the white lightning bolt shorts, one of the wise-guy kids tried to pants me, thinking that because of the wild design, the shorts musta been boxers! Nope, them’s some bomber shorts! Ha ha…

John shouldn’t you be snowboarding or something? It’s raining down here so I have no other excuses but to be on the computer.

Golden dragon, I was trying to think of that name but only came up with “crouching tiger”

Those “other” pants are still sitting here in the shop. TM that label of yours and add’em to the shoe line Dude!

By the looks of this thread we could sell at least 6 pairs!

Thanks guys well make things right again!

They could be the shittiest pants ever and I would buy a pair for nastalgia alone.

Black with black cuffs please. Best for doing slabs in Josh in Winter on a windy day.

/off to find pics of Josh to scan in.

I have several pair of mens Gramicci pants, my friends girl also has a pair of womens gramicci pants.
My question, why does the womens pants have a zipper fly and the mens pants have no fly?
My assumption: Grammicci is owned by men hating women?
Please set me straight.

If anyone at Gramicci, the company, is listening...

Your fast dry pants are still my favorite climbing pant, even though at 5'6" the small is still about two sizes too big. Inflating the women's sizes is only good for the ego up to the point that you keep it believable, and you have to add ultra small sizes for the women who weigh in under 175.

Nor Cal, I don’t want to pass out any trade secrets here, but. I think what happened was with the women they didn’t like the bagginess caused in the front of pant that is a pull on. Without a fly you need enough room in the waist to get it over your bottom. Hence the problem you see. The fly flattened out the pant very nicely. I wouldn’t think they would still call that a Gramicci pant though?

Believe me when I was there I sure didn’t hate women! (still don’t)

Mungeclimber, you hit the ordinal colors right on the head. You got it, black for those colder days and white for the summer time (that’s why we always used sailor pants back in the day). We even took function right to the colors. How simple life would have been it you didn’t have to worry about fashion like today and all those colors you have to have.

A man that was ahead of his time for wild climbing pants though was Rick Accomazzo. I was over on Suicide Rock with some friends and we sat and watched Rick do the first free ascent of the lower Arch on Tahquitz which correct me if I’m wrong is 4 miles away. He was wearing a Bright Canary Yellow climbing pant. The only one you could tell who it was. I also have some embarrassing photos of him in Plaid pants!

Melissa, the quick dry garments are some of my favorite Too. Sorry about the sizing I don’t understand why its like that, the current owners also make “Rampage” clothing for women (I think that sells in Target) you would think they would have it figured out?

Werner, I have that web camera trained on you right now. The one in your office, yeah turn around….see it, right there, now do you see it!

The pants, however, kind of clash with my new edging boots. What should I do?

JB – That’s quite the strapping photo of you with the club. Was that a big wood?

Those actually look like Rick’s pants, wher ja get those?

Yeah, Yerian showed me those prototype boots when you weren’t looking at OR I think they will go just fine with the pants.

I wish I looked that strapping! Get 'em here:
http://www.golfknicker.com/

It's ridiculously hard to find "climbing knickers" on the internet - haven't been successful yet. Remember those "bombachos" knickers that the gauchos wore down in Argentina? Those'd be tight (=loose)! Can't find those things either...
