was in Patagonia and tried to poach a sheep, but just after catching it he was spotted by a gaucho who rode up to intercede.
The quick thinking climber made it appear as though his intentions were merely amorous rather than larcenous.

I heard the same story about Pete Minks years before Bridwell went to Patagonia. Not sayin' its true, but i did hear the story.

i believe the burgess brothers 'version' of this story happened in the himalaya, NOT patagonia

patagonian sheep = the bird
himalayan sheep = aid and alan

I heard the gaucho fell off his horse laughing because the climber had grabbed a yearling ram,..
