I love comics!
Cool rainy Los Angeles morning. Mist & clouds draping the mountains. Really good espresso from fine Mexican beans. Long cooking Irish oatmeal. And Euro Comics. A great day. Later I'm going to go work on selling more Chinese made stuff to my fellow Americans.
We are keeping an eye on you Lolli.

Thanks, Lolli - awesome! Though the dry, introspective humour may somewhat escape some from the US.
Do you have links for the site(s) the cartoons came from?

the stereotypical Swedish woman is radically different from the stereotypical Swedish man. In fact, she is the complete opposite of everything the Swedish man stands for, so Sweden is not particular proud of her. that explains a LOT!
;-)
Lolli: we need a national flag translator to get the most out of these. I'm afraid most of us 'Mericans don't recognize European flags.

Lolli,
LOL!
We Americans easily forget the European inter-relations. Man, the world of humans is a big place!
Still haven't reviewed the last third, saving those for dessert.

What fun!
Syttende mai (May 17th) is Norway's constitution day, and a huge event. A significant fraction of the country's population attends parades and events around the country. The largest is that on Karl Johan Gate, the main street in Oslo, which leads from the Storting (parliament) to the palace. 5 - 10% of the population of the country is present.
Norway's independence day is actually June 7th, the date in 1905 when the country regained full independence after 90 years of union with Sweden, and before that 300 years of domination by Denmark. It's also the date on which Norway became free in 1945, after five years of occupation by the Germans. (There were several hundred thousand Germans in Norway at the end of the war, and it took a while to disarm them all and start shipping them home. Though there were secret talks between the resistance and the German military in early 1945 about what to do, plus (finally) some active help from Sweden in the last year or two of the war.)

"The big story around here these days is that America have been spying on civilians in European countries without informing the government. It all started when Norway found out about it, and then other countries started looking into it and found that Americans had indeed been spying on civilians in their country. I'd never have known that from the US news.
But there was one thing America didn’t count on: A nation just as terror-paranoid as them. Denmark to be exact. There the government found out about the spying and sent out Danish agents to spy on the American agents. I used to work for a large Danish corporation. Nice people, intelligent, highly ethical. Don't mess with Danes. That's about the way I'd expect them to react! Good on 'em.

I really didn't bother looking past the first one or two. Stereotypes are just that and not very useful unless your goal is to create divisions among peeps.

Lola, no one 'threw me out.'
I do not need to wait for a year to call someone's BS. You joined both sites to contribute nothing but OT crap regarding politics etc. Disgusting...And as Chief said in one of SP threads-hardest climbs of your life are out of your bed, so why are you on these sites?

You make it sound like you can't laugh at yourself without these 'types?? That's ridiculous. I laugh at myself all the time, most often when on lead.
