Looks good bro. I like the flip out shelf for the stove and such. What fun.

Now drive that rig to flag and get the book done and climb.

You have a place to park and can stay inside.

Matching PJ's?! That's awesome.

Just wondering - what about the spare tire? You are using that space now for gear and stuff, it seemed. Where does the spare tire go now? Or am I mistaken?

The spare tire is mounted on the back, and it is most certainly NOT getting a flannel cover.

;)

Edit: Thanks for the offer, Acer! See you soon, I hope!

Fantastic, Mr. E! I've got an Element, and now you've got me wondering what I can put together in that. Are you aware of any sites that describe that same kind of conversion?

Definitely going to make something like this for my CRV, How removable is it?

There are 20 screws keeping the platform on, and under that two loops of baling wire holding the thing down. It would take maybe 10 minutes to remove, and another 10 to get the seat back in?

Mooser: I found this for you:

Totally sweet! Takes me back to some really good climbing & surfing days.... I had a 1988 Toyota 4-Runner that was my bivy-mobile with an in-situ mountain bike, sleeping accoutrements, and climbing gear. There was more than one time when I had to make tough decisions like, 'remove my stuff and go on a date or blow off the date and head to the Gunks/Beach/Daks/North Conway[...] early'. I blew off the date more times than I can remember and I have a good memory.

The fact that I just sold a near identical CR-V to get a Subby in no way lessens my respect for you as a carpenter and craftsman:-)

I still remember the documentation on your van conversion. That was a masterpiece, an interesting and amazing masterpiece no less, while this is but something that even an incompetent like moi could do.

Thanks for sharing it!
