Hi!
my wife and i are headed to JT with friends; we have twin 3 year olds and want to find someone willing to spend days with us to help care for / babysit our twins at the base of the crags while we climb. as of yet they are not potty-trained. we really would like someone is willing to tromp around the park.
the dates are: possibly March 16 (wed), definitely Mar 17,18,19,20 ... then March 22,23,24.
we start climbing early and the days would last until 5-6pm.
please have a car and be willing to drive into the park in the AM to meet us at our campsite. we'll pay for all hours worked. $ rate/hour negotiable.
thx!

An intriguing job....but 3yr. and not potty trained ?? Could be problematic. Otherwise could be much fun.
Edit: Do you have references ?

Do I as one of the parents have references???
I know I know - 3 y.o. and still likes to poop in diaper...we figure, what's the rush?
I've tried posting on Craigslist, Sittercity.com, ... no luck.
Figure some climbers could make some 'easy' $ reading Dr Seuss and doling out juice boxes in a nice setting.

these little men are the most obedient, polite, phlegmatic, docile, and compliant, three year old twin brothers roaming the Southwest
you want the job?

Were you all planning on doing stuff with difficult approaches? If so, it maybe a little tougher to find a sitter. Last time my wife and I wanted to go up to rock valley garden, it was impossible to find a sitter, let alone someone willing to carry my 4yr old up there. We just ended up bouldering all day. Yeah, I was pretty fuking bitter for the rest of the day, but my little girl barely noticed I was pissed at her. Try the pit, I have had decent luck finding sitters there before.

ng, well re: references.....I was just wondering if anyone knew you in the climbing community. There are risks now days on both sides. I'd want to know who I was working for and with. :D

There's a woman who roams up and down the 62 in a wheelchair, though often she pushes it, and she has mentioned several things like she can travel through time, see ghosts and is good with children. She has a cast so she won't be going very far, which is good, and she is great for conversations if you don't care what they are about. I'd give you her number but probably the easiest way to get ahold of her is to hang out in the Valero with a five dollar bill.

Lynne! No, you are not going to do this for them. Dang it, with all the sue happy people in the world...
For one we all know there are rattlesnakes and lots of sharp things sticking out of the plant life. Deserts are not nice places for watching children.
How about this idea since it makes more sense...
You should get a guide who will help one of you climb at a time while the other parent does the job! You can switch off so you both get to climb and still be fully responsible towards your children! The guide will take you places that are more child friendly, will make sure the climbs are safe, fun and... You can do the rest.

Are you kidding me - a 'sue happy' climber?
Of course no ridiculous approaches - all stuff within 15-20 walk, max.
I kind of understand the references issue...
we are staying at a group campground with 3 other families with kids ranging from 2 years to 10 years. If you want the job and show up at the campground and we look / seem like litigious psychopaths, just say no thanks and I'll pay for the drive time and you'll be on your way.

Jaybro... That is just plain brilliant. But I do have one problem... I think those two will actually be too good for them.
