I love Fred, He's inspired me in so many ways. He's 88 years young today. For those of you in Seattle, tonight will have a birthday celebration at the Mountaineer's Club there.

Fred Beckey entered my vocabulary within the first few days of becoming involved with climbing and he has never left. I never climbed with him but I had a few friends who did back in the 70s/80s and the tales are endless.
