Good for Renan. An awesome fellow who is living the dream. Couldn't be happier for someone. He's good folk.

The Alpinist article about Namibia (Kate R. and Majka) Holy crap. Want to go there so much. Once I have income again it's where I want to go. Stunning rock.

Namibia is a long ways from Chad.
At least english is fairly common there, and if you have a little german you're pretty good.

I wouldn't want to be in Chad without a strong party, and only in winter at that.

I've looked at a trip to Namibia before, seems totally fine. There is good surf there too, if a bit sharky. That Chad trip looked wild- and you can climb an arch without inducing years of internet flaming!
