Namibia is a long ways from Chad.
At least english is fairly common there, and if you have a little german you're pretty good.
I wouldn't want to be in Chad without a strong party, and only in winter at that.

I've looked at a trip to Namibia before, seems totally fine. There is good surf there too, if a bit sharky. That Chad trip looked wild- and you can climb an arch without inducing years of internet flaming!
