Not me, I'm seeing mostly porn ads. It must be Google profiling or righteous living. Either way, I win.

No, unless you are seeing Chris Lindner running up and doing a boulder problem. Although he's not wearing the glasses, it looks like Smith Optics thinks this should sell their product.

Oh...SMITH optics...Joseph Smith? I see now. Is there a way to upgrade to the porn ads Gunkies's seeing up there? Cause if there is I'm in.

I've been thinking the same thing! It drives me crazy, I want to punch my LCD. You're not wearing glasses you pebble wrestler!

Smith optics should fire their marketing rep.

I'm seeing Chase, Carhartt and QuiBids here right now but have had some mormon ads following me on another site. At least the tire ads I was seeing on the Taco finally quit, 7 months after I researched and bought tires.

Sorry for the egregious spelling. The Mormon Ads have appeared on the Top and sidebar spaces of supertopo whenever I come here. They usually have some picture of a minority member of their church (an African American and an Asian chick) with a link to this website

http://mormon.org/

It's just odd that it's only me, I'm not the religious type. When I see it again, Ill get a screen shot.

LOL

"minority member"? (you sure they're just not freaks?)
I'm not buying it until I see plenty of color in the Quorum of the 70. Otherwise it is just window dressing.

Which begs the question:
Why are you clicking on the ads anyway?
And why do you care?

Certainly the ads are targeted.
Which leads to a number of different questions: Did you piss off the Mission Mormonaries last time they came to your door?
Are they out to get you now?
Was your last girlfriend a closet Mormon?
Are you Anti-Mormon? (worse than anti-Christ for sure)
Have you ever been to Utah?

There are nearly as many Mormon Conspiracy theories as there are alien invasion and Barack Obama theories.

Hey Ron,
last time I spent any time in Salt Lick City there was a convention of gospel singers. They sang with the Tabernuckle Choir on Sunday morning. There were a whole lot of really puzzled white faces in the audience. Some of them actually rather aghast. My wife and I went specifically to hear them sing and it was great.

The Tabernuckle Choir was of course still all white.

Edit: it should be noted that all the Gospel Singers were dark skinned. And much more fun to listen to.

Before Hawaii's recent primary election I saw ads here on ST for one Governor's candidate who is a Mormon. That guy lost his Democratic primary.

Since then, the Republican candidate, who is also Mormon, has had no ads here that I've seen.

But several years ago, Hawaii had an initiative on the ballot to permit same-sex marriage. The anti-gay effort was OVERWHELMINGLY FUNDED BY THE MORMON CHURCH. The initiative narrowly lost, depriving a large segment of our population of their civil rights.

I COMPLETELY OBJECT to churches having income tax immunity based on "freedom of religion" provisions in the Constitution when they continue to violate and ignore "separation of church and state" provisions which are also embodied in the Constitution. Churches are, in fact, for-profit businesses that lobby in elections and interfere in other areas of government. Seems like a good issue for a different thread here on the Taco. However, I usually ignore political AND religious threads...

You just don't get it, do you Ken? America is the land where cognitive dissonance has been eliminated. I think that's what the chemtrails are all about. Aliens landed on the dark side of the moon where they have a mothership (disguised as a boulder) which is really a tanker full of a chemical which the government of the US (in collusion with a variety of secret religious and anti-religious groups)uses in jet fuel so that it imperceptibly rains down on citizens.

The effect of the chemical is to break down the neurotransmitters that normally would light up your brain with danger signals when you attempt to hold two conflicting ideas simultaneously. Thereby rendering it easy to believe both that religious organizations should have tax immunity and also should take an active part in the political and economic running of the country, as both required and forbidden by the constitution.

Or something...

Can't speak specifically to the SuperTaco ads, but website ad placement has become so sophisticated that each of us sees different ads depending upon our "consumer profile" based on our Internet surfing habits and other information. So... if you're seeing Mormon ads, it may be because you've been shopping for underage wives online. (Or maybe you just like skiing in Utah.)
