Because we've been told for so long how special we are.

We started believing it. Then we started thinking that not only were we special, but better.

When you're better than others, your need to learn about them or have empathy for them diminishes.

"They should just be more like....US! Then their problems would be solved, yeah, that's it."

Our literacy rate is appalling and far below other first-world countries. Our health is also miserable especially as related to body mass index. Our appallingly poor collective sophistication in things political continues to prove our basic ungovernability and to manifest the miracle of the electorate voting against its own direct benefit over and over again.

We are completely unprepared to run our country. Only 2 out of 5 voters (40%) can name the three branches of government. 49% think the President has the power to suspend the Constitution. The simplest principles of legal reasoning escape most. It is a race to the bottom these last 40 years.

I guess if you forget history your military will start to kill for sport...

Philo you are naive for thinking that guys like Fatty can learn anything from history. They have to touch the stove to know it is hot.

If "Little Johnny" can't read do you think "Teacher Betty" has done her job?

For whatever lame excuse, evidently not.

No DumbAss! I hold foolish municipal politics for gutting budgets and support for teachers.
They face a nearly insurmountable task made only more difficult by AssHats like you thinking they have it too easy and should just be gratefull for their annual 3 month forced layoff.
Go back to school fool.

I find it immensely humorous that just the other day Blowus got her support hose in a bunch when she falsely assumed I was disparaging the noble profession of nursing by calling her a bed pan jockey. Now one of her favorite BFFs in Taco-land clearly casts aspersions about the NOBLEST profession there is.
I wonder if Ol' Blowus will speak up and correct Skip to the loo?
Or are they just pathetic hypocrites?

After all, according to philo, screw little Johnny. It's all about the paycheck.

Hey Skiptothenon-sequitur, where do you come up with these lunatic ASSumptions.
How is what I said in any way related to your reply?
