It is at about -4.6 now, about the brightest it ever gets.
Dec 9 is max.
Its a real treat to see Venus with the naked eye during the day. Look from the shadow of a building. Do not look at the sun with any optical instrument.

I saw Venus about 2:30 pm today from Northridge, stood in the shadow of a tall building. Found the crescent moon first, Venus was off to the west about 5 deg. Tomorrow Venus will be right next to the crescent moon so it will be easier to find.
Really cool to see a planet in broad daylight.

Thanksgiving night we had our telescope on it. It was eclipsed by the moon. Pretty awesome!

Saw it again from stoney point. About 8 moon diameters above cresent moon.
