Nice NorCal. You can just about see the fairways down there. Add a bit of sand here and there and you got an exclusive course. Caddies required. Dirtbags, being employed, exempt from the 2 week rule. LOL. How long a drive from the top of El Cap to hit the meadow?

After ten years of living abroad, those pics have made me homesick.

I think John Long has a story of two guys hitting golf balls off of El Cap spire (I think) on the Salathe! Apparently it it got the rangers to close the road as they thought there was a sniper. Dont know how much truth there is to the story....

In a night shot leave the shutter open for a while and it will not be as dark. Experiment with the timing to get the best results.

I know. This was about a 5-second exposure. I liked the silhouettes.
I got some great photos over mono lake the same night. I worked for DNC at the Coffee Corner in the summer and fall of '04. Grad school pulled me back to Georgia.

Best results are illusory, the product of blinded and misguided thinking. The real question is,
What would El Cap say about this photo?

Kath, yes I am a pilot. Was on the way to watch the Reno Air races in 2000 in my Jet Ranger. Couldn’t resist a slight detour over the valley. :-)
