Howdy all,
So, climbed Hot Tuna (or rather MOST of Hot Tuna-- first 4 pitches of Violet Green and then bailed) over the weekend. Seemed like a pretty dodgy route-- there were a couple bail slings below what looked like a broken flake that really changed the character of the fourth pitch...Anyone climbed this route? I'm curious if the route has changed or just requires huevos grandes...
Cheers! ESD

Back in the day Violet Green was standard fare. Eastside adventure climbing at it's finest, marginal gear, nebulous route description but outstanding location. I remember it as stellar but it certainly could have changed some. Lots of other good stuff up there to do.

thanks tony...
agreed the other rock looks pretty cool....
the approach wasn't too bad, a couple hours. harder than, say, the rabbit ears approach but minimally punishing.
I was hoping to get beta for some of the other obscure routes i.e. Stormy Petral and the Grey Tower etc. (old Bartlett guide stuff)...are there any handwritten topos out there?
muchas gracias!

Strassman put in a new 10c up the right edge of Adam's Rib, it's noted in the rockclimbing.com route database.
