I wonder if they will be playing the World Cup game in the Mountain Room, in Yosemite....?

This might be worth a visit?

I got a subscription via UEFA.com for Live and Replay options. Been watching replays of the games leading up to this weekends WC beginnings...

should be a good game. I will be rooting for US, but know that its such a long shot.... (solely based on past games)

Either way though, my hope is that this years games are as exciting as the past few.. even more so.

The USA has a history of playing well in South Africa. We recently beat Spain there, and it took Brazil two halves to knock us out last year in South Africa. Look out!

After England's two most recent games, I'm getting more hopeful. As long as we don't score any own-goals for them, we have a fighting chance!

Very psyched for World Cup. Hopefully, the many injuries will stop as no one wants to see teams that aren't full strength. Would love to see the USA beat England but with Rooney peaking at the right time that will be a tall order. I'd put money on Spain but how could Brazil every be counted out as a favorite. I hope Argentina does well, Messi is amazing.

OH WHEN THE YANKS! GO MARCHING IN! OH WHEN THE YANKS GO MARCHING IN! HOW I WANT TO BE IN THE NUMBER WHEN THE YANKS GO MARCHING IN! USA USA USA

Gonna beast on England!

And Jingy based on past games USA can totally win. We beat England 1-0 in the 1950 world cup (the only time we have played England in the world cup)
And based on England's performances in their friendlies which have all resulted in unconvincing wins ( 3-1 Mexico but being outplayed for most of the match, 2-1 Japan winning by 2 own goals, and a 3-0 win against South African Premier League outfit Platinum Stars once again unconvincing and poor play and flow) we have every shot of shooting the Brits down and topping our group.

Eventhough I live in Arizona, I will be rooting for Mexico to advance. Atleast until they face the USA. Best wishes to our southern neighbors!

The USA always gets a bad draw when it comes time to organize the groups. In this cup however, the USA was given the best draw its ever had. So the numbers are in our favor to advance into the second round more than ever.

Yeah I would be very surprised if the US doesn't make it out of group play. Slovenia and Algeria are 2 of the weekest teams in the tournament. As mentioned they haven't had this kind of opportunity for a long while if ever in this event.

Captain Obvious - Bwahahahha !!!

all I have to this "

.. is.....

enough said.

Not since 1950, when they had nothing near the moves I've seen from within the soccer bubble have the Americans even come close....

This is one sport that American will have to sub-contract the work out to smaller, more impoverished nations to get the job done right...

Gonna be hopeful for America to go all the way....

But I will not be holding my breath...

Can't frickin' wait!!!

+1. I think this is their year. Many of their squads have had the talent, but not the mental toughness. They've always folded on the big stage. Winning Europe was a nice precedent though.

Tomorrow's going to be a tough game, but our boys can take it. It wouldn't be the first time one of our teams pulled off the big upset (that I remember: v columbia '94, v portugal '02). Prediction: US wins 2-1 after Rooney gets red carded for blowing up over a VERY physical US defense!

SteveL: England is a formidable opponent for US's 1st game of this Cup but I agree US can win if we frustrate & fluster Rooney, and Donovon is on his game.
