ChrisMac,
Great reviews. Thanks for the efforts. I might be a good idea to give a head's up on the need to be sure that the ProTraxion/MiniTraxion are fully closed before you apply weight to them. Refer to that accident in Zion last year where a second attached himself to a weighted haul line that was set to haul through a Pro/Mini (forget which one). Whichever it was wasn't fully closed and as soon as he weighted his jugs the haul line slipped. He plummeted and as soon as the Pro/Mini grabbed, the jug stripped the sheath and the rope eventually failed.

Climb safe,
Mal

Good info Chris, I certainly like the Wall Hauler, or the USHBA if you can find it. Although the USHBA doesn't handle large diameter haul lines well, cam doesn't fully clamp! The USHBA is awesome for 10mm or smaller for sure!!

I have not tried the Petzl family of haulers, but would like to for sure!
The Zion accident makes a good point to be careful they clamp properly!

I think Pete and Kate were using the USHBA as a Wall Rachet, but that is an aside!

What? No BURT BRONSON method of hauling in the reviews?

The link to the ProTraxion under heading 2 is broken, FYI.
EDIT: this is in the advice page, not the full reviews.

You got a bad USHBA, I have hauled on plenty of Zion sandstone BITD and never had a problem; however the point is probably moot anyawy because you can't buy them anymore! My experience has been positive, sorry for your bad JUJU.
