So as I climb up I put the gear in the rock and clip the rope in with a biner.
I do this until I run out of gear right.

I think you've got it. At least that's how I did it on my latest triumph on The Trough. Thank Jaysus for those slings at Pine Tree Ledge.
Maybe you can put your theory to test Sunday at the Tree that is Joshua.
Please advise.
