Is Ephinephrine even in the same ballpark as Steck Salathe?
I lead every pitch in Eph and it took 6 hours. Crux wasn't bad. I never do wide stuff. Am I ready for an ass kickin on SS?

Not in the same league by any stretch.
Epi seems more like NE Butt of Higher (probably easier than it) Steck worked me hard even when I was freesoloing 80% of Ne Butt

Epinepherine is easy. SS is hard. E Butt of Higher is in the middle.

Are you ready? How would we know. Are they in the same ballpark? No. Not even close.

If you get an answer you believe, no point in doing the SS.
The experience has been spoiled.

The best training for the Steck is to climb the Steck.
You can easily rap until the traverse from Flying Buttress (don't know about from beyond there). A wanker gear pulling ascent through the Narrows (what I did) is better than not doing it at all. Though, I'd do some situps, planks, cruches for a month before hand if I could do it over again.
Bring a headlamp, a light warm layer, and some cord slings that can backup rap anchors if you don't make it, esp this late in the season. Bring a watch, have a turn around time for top of Flying Buttress. If aren't going fast enough, rap - you'll have had a great day even if you made it only that far.

Mike you have more sack and such a positive attitude that us mere mortals can only bow down in front of you and say...."I'm Knott worthy". as for SS you're gonna die epi is a simple romp. When you start leading .11 in redrocks and you get a few shots of horse piss then you might live on SS..... Good luck.

I heard the warm-up is NE Buttress of Higher plus Brailbook, all in a day. Which tells me, I'd never make it. ha

I think most people defeat themselves before they even try.
Usually, people are capable of far more than they believe.

Go do the thing and find out all about it. So it might get dark, BFD. It'll get light again, too.

I like rhodo-router's answer. A little shivering never hurt anyone. Well... bring a jacket at least. And space blankets are pretty light.

Dude, It's The Steck-Salathe!
It gets REAL up there. It's a Tall Stone, after all.
The Sentinel. Oh, yeah.
