Weirdlouis: ok so now I'm pretty confused. One minute you can't be arsed to write anything specific but now you claim that you did once but can't be arsed copy and paste it or write it again.

WeirdLois you don't want to search them out because they don't exist. You never made "specific" and/or detailed proposals. You only rehashed the same ol same ol drivel.

Moosie,
This is a whole ball of wax, and where to start?
Largo, I know you know that everyone can't wait to see your StoneMasters book, and it'll be GOOD, and you got to get your price, right?
I wish we never spent a penny on wars!!! Imagine what could have been done with that? In the history of the world, like only 200 years there hasn't been any, and there is more coming.
Get a real job, climbing is an addiction! HA HA HA
The housing mess mostly was caused by people trying to make a buck off others, selling wine to those who can't afford beer.
For the most part you are the most Godless group I've seen! EVERYONE, is welcome to come, God say's not to talk about what you give, but as a plug, I give every month to the Union Rescue Mission in LA
There is no free lunch; "If there is no money to put food in the frig, then you starve. So what are you protecting?" But B'O, is telling everyone the buffet is open!

Most of the proto-fascist tea baggers are suffering from mental incontinence. That waste product just keeps dribbling out even if it makes them all wet and smell funny.

As climbers, we could start an on going fund that helps all old retired climbers, like what have for the movie industry. I would pitch in.

"n fairness to Gobee, the unfortunate climbers who sustained serious accidents while climbing chose not to carry health insurance"
Not all of them.
!.5 to 1.7 million bankruptcies in America each year. 60 percent of them are due to health problems. Of that 60 percent, 80 percent had health insurance, yet they still went broke. This happens year in and year out.
Oh, and they aren't illegal aliens. They had insurance, they went broke.

"Dude, for a self professed Christian, you are heartless and woefully ignorant of the facts.
Deut. 15:7. If there is a poor man among you, one of your brothers, in any of the towns of the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand to your poor brother; but you shall freely open your hand to him, and generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks."
""God say's not to talk about what you give, but as a plug,"...
Heartless is as heartless does.

Now you're talking, the insurance companies need oversight and regulation. Same problems as bank and bad mortgages. No more fine print!

" Moosie. Is anything EVER anyone's fault."
HowWeirdloiscanyougo. Sure..... Dick n Bush should be held responsible for their actions. You continually go into black and white thinking. Please stop it. I have talked over and over about how people can take responsibility for their actions and should. I started working near fulltime at age 15 and was working fulltime by 17. How much you work and what your capacities are, determine what kind of luxuries one can have. I don't consider health insurance to be a luxury. Nor education up to grade 12. Just as you don't consider having military protection to be a luxury. Each of these things helps our country be strong. And please don't think that my previous statement means that I think the military is a luxury. I don't. I just put healthcare and education on an equal footing.
As has been pointed out, We already pay for healthcare of the poor through taxes, and higher insurance premiums to cover those who can't pay. Ie, all of our bills are higher in hospitals because hospitals are not suppose to turn away anyone. Why not put this all together along with the profits that insurance companies take from us and use this money to cover everyone? Take the money through taxes using the same scale that we currently tax everything else, a sliding scale, instead of paying insurance premiums. I have no problem with having at least some taxes come from the poor in this regard.
Now I am out the door. Flame away.

brilliant strategy...keep flushing taxpayer money down the pentagon toilet under the guise of protecting americans then deny them healthcare which hastens their demise anyway.....where's the connection in logic....?

"Can someone please explain why these people are so dumb?"
Can someone please explain to me why those people are so white?
Look at khanom's pics- there's a bunch of them from the recent protest at the Capital- as far as I could tell, every frickin' one of them was white!
No diversity there, no diversity in the GOP. Just a bunch of anglo-wackos wandering around Washington DC.
Hey, fattrad- did you hear that in TGT's vision of the GOP, you would be thrown out as a moderate? (See yesterday's posts for details) What party would you go to, then?

WeirdWackoLois, I do remember some of your posts have a few suggestions on healthcare systems- something about clinics, I think.
In case you haven't noticed, though, the very nature of this thread is to repeat one's views over and over and over and over and over- it's been that way since post #1. People are going to ask the same questions- if you aren't willing to repeat your answers, then find another thread to perseverate on.

"Who owns the insurance companies? Pension funds (union employees), Mutual Funds (many peoples 401K's), some wealthy people and some small timers at Schwab.
A great many people have an interest in their success."
But what that really means Jeff is that they have an interest not in health care but in THEIR own personal gain at any expense.
The old paradigm of PROFITS UBER ALLES is at the root of what has crippled the system. There is a better way. Granma doesn't need to be thrown under the bus just so a stock holder can buy a bigger yacht. Hardworking folks don't have to go bankrupt over medical expenses just so a CEO can buy a bigger jet.
Henry Ford understood that if the average worker can not afford that which they build then the system is out of balance and utterly unsustainable.
But the GOP wants to roll back time to a point where kids work in sweat shops and workers are slaves to the company store.
Hey Jeff out of curiosity how many shares of Wallmart do you have in your portfolio?
Wont it be interesting when the pernicious predatory practices of Wallmart have them take on REI and start selling climbing gear?

It doesn't explain "everything," but it established for all to see that race and the far right are totally and indisputably connected.

Did you know?
The annual cost to us taxpayers for illegals going to
emergency rooms is around 250 million dollars.
WHAT?
All this uproar, all this driving the deficit higher talk.
This horror is the basis behind many dumb ass conservative's
rational for driving the pesky illegals back to Mexico.
That's about ONE WEEK IN IRAQ.
