I appreciate your thorough explanation. I can see how they are not as convenient on lower angle rock and a wider "platform" would be better for getting the foot into.

Great to hear from someone who has tried both. I don't think you can go wrong either way, but thanks again for the details.

I'm planning a trip in May/June and hopefully again in the fall...we'll see....hope to catch you there!
