The plan was for Hillary and I to take off 3/9 for vegas and climb for a few days then tour Cali a bit before heading back for Grand Junction on the 18th.
The plan was not for me to get type A influenza, and not be able to climb in Vegas, and to sit around on the beach in cali not being able to breath.(Crashpads are great things)
Luckily I had good company. (notice the scary guy in the background)

I met up with my buddy in the Marines (mike). He has a day off so we went to woodson.

Played on Robbins Crack
Hillary Workin Robbin and Mike trying to ball up to the down climb

tried Jaws at night
Not enough time in the day

We went and hung out in Santa Barabra for a while
and went to inspect the climbing.

Shitty Face CLimb.

On Gibralter Rock there is a awesome roof, a Must do.

THe next day we searched with some bad beta for the San Ysardo Cragging. We ended up walking around
and Hillary did Hand Stands
Found the biggest rock in sight, hillary claimed it.
WE gave up saying f*#k San Ysardo

We Hung out at Oceanside waiting for Mike THe Marine to get some time off.
Then it was up To Suicide Rock.

For Mike climbing maybe once every two weeks, he was working the Hard Slab. I guess having a dad as a old Hardman helps.

Good Camping (crash pads are good)
Note the awsome hat.

THe next day Mike's dad, Tony Zeek, the Italian Tiger, came up and Pointed out climbs for us to do. Suicides being his old stoming ground. Was good climbing slab with him talking about the old days and telling me not to be such a pussy on the run out 5.9.
Hillary's Feet

To finish the day we decided to throw down on Insomnia Crack. Me, being a better at crack then slab, I threw myself at it. Great climb.
starting off

Then it was off for the 12 drive home.

As Always we needed more time. But at least with the time we had, it was with good friends, and even better times.

Chuckwalla-- thanks for taking us along on the road trip. 5 stars for the handstands and all that crazy jasmine along the San Ysardo trail. Insomnia looks SWEET.

I'll keep an eye (and I) out for you at Unaweep.

Great photos and I too like the handstand photos! I'm pretty sure I can't do that and claiming injury so I can't try.

What's next?
