The Beaumont Bully
Wild eyed
the widows son
tried to compensate
for love once won
for a mother’s loss
after his birth
so he set out for
to prove his worth
He loved his peaches
and like them tinned
he even loved
most of his kin
had many a friend
but like some men
he hated his father
but blamed women
Wild eyed
the widows son
a popular guy
with the friends he won
but when it was time
to have some fun
with his reckless ways
he’d be undone
To a football game
he wanted to go
but he rebelled
when his mom said no
he tied her to
a rocking chair
and hit the road
without a care
Wild eyed
the widows son
tried to compensate
for what he’d done
when he came back home
with a fresh bouquet
of wildflowers
and an apology
His mother met him
at the door
said, “son your bags
are on the floor
there’s someone
I want you to meet
he’s your new dad
now please be sweet”
Wild eyed
the widows lad
opened his yap
like he was bad
but a three hundred pound
cop stood at the door
that boy turned heel
then he said no more
