update: 50 dead, 53 wounded at a gay nightclub (Pulse) in Orlando, FL at about 2 am last night. Lone gunman, U.S. born Omar Saddiqui Mateen, used one automatic rifle and was killed by police in subsequent shootout.

any more accurate?
Our beloved jgill - and followed closely by dmt - called me a bigot and accused me of bigotry a couple of weeks ago for pointing out the fact (as part of a larger discussion) that I went to undergraduate school and shared a dorm wing with 4-5 fundamentalist Iranian muslims so... for context... that's where we are in a number of these conversations.
Sad when it's so hard to even describe the basics of a problem without a majority - here or elsewhere - lapsing into name-calling.
Participating in a climbers forum over several years sure begets lessons in the limits to public discussions and public problem solving - at least by climber consensus.
