People like purple.
It's a palette of passion,
preferable to puce.
The purple penumbra
of a midsummer's eve
places high in the scoring
whilst parsing your peeves.
Don't go green with envy
if purple's perceived.

That's a good one, Tami! You go, gurl.

Royal Blue, but Imperial Purple.

Blame the scarcity of dibromindigo.

And everyone's Tyred out, too.

FishFinder, I gotta tell ya, the image above of the purple torso?

It's a nearly-faithful reproduction of what I conceived of as THE SOUL, during my grammar school catechism lessons way back in the fifties.

The sparkliness was missing, it was gray, and it had the shortest imaginable stumps for legs and the shoulders had no arms at all, while the neckline was flush with the collarbones.

You look good in the first costume photo.

I hated Deep Purple the first time I heard them, when I accidentally bought an audiocassette of their later stuff. But after a few years I listened to it and thought, hey this stuff isn't so bad! But this album is as good as it gets from them:

One of my favorite colors, purple is the color of royalty.

I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one.

Funny how the esteemed Congress decided on Purple for this award.

I've got an amusing story behind this award:

On my last day in Vietnam, I got wounded for the 2nd time. I had already packed my footlocker with all my crap, since I was leaving the next morning.

The 1st Purple Heart award was in my footlocker, ready to go home with my belongings. After I got wounded the 2nd time, all my stuff was shipped home, but alas, when I got it unpacked many months later, the Purple Heart badge was missing.

I guess some GI, or someone in charge, thought this would be a nice keepsake from their tour. I've never bothered to apply for a new one. I hear the badge is worth about $50. bucks.

I have always liked the color Purple--long before Vietnam.
