So the N Face of Alberta thread got me to looking again for the topo George
made for me of N Twin. No joy on that but I opened up my '71 Fricke guide
to Rocky Mountain NP and found this...
OK, not so exciting, except to maybe Grossman,
but on the back was this treasure...
Now that's what I call bringin' the beta!
Since it is on the Swallow's Nest invoice I'm thinking Bill Sumner drew it.
OK, back to looking for the N Twin topo which, if I find it,
I think will ensure a comfortable retirement.

Thanks for the prompt Reilly!
Swallows Nest was an amazing specialty shop and soooooo Seattle!
Keep digging for the N Twin topo. That would be fun to see too!
Once installed as dictator with attractive secretary to take it all on down Fred could never be forced to leave office.

I loved the Swallow's Nest. As a native So Cal boy, it was impossible to find decent alpine gear- taking a trip to the PNW was always an amazing experience. Walking into the Swallow's Nest always blew my mind- alpine gear wonderland, and lots of people who actually used it.
The loss of that store was one of the big milestones in the change of the outdoor retail & community. Nothing will ever replace it.

It should be noted that the above invoice/topo was from the OG Nest on Boat street, not the
later 'mega-store'. The original was smaller than some walk-in closets I've seen. More
importantly it was stumbling distance from the Norrthlake Pizza joint - oh, yeah!
But we digress, I started this to stimulate postings of similarly exhaustively detailed topos.

What's in a topo...
That which we call a route by any other description would smell as adventurous...
