Granny Aina is doing great. She told me, absolutely no leftovers...I guess that's a carry-over food prejudice from surviving the Great Depression. Tonight we had McDonalds Filet O'Fish and coleslaw from Colonel Chicken (two thumbs up).

Those glasses, mid eighties vintage, am I right? Not bad for climbing I seem to remember as the lenses were quite large you had decent focus looking down, unlike fashionable glasses today where the lenses are so-oo small.

Yep, I'm frequently shamed by that generations respect for food and the frugality with which they treat it. The zero waste option doesn't seem to fit in to the modern way of life. I guess it's pretty ingrained in my parent/grand parents generation as they went through food rationing in WWII. Strangely this generation has been identified as one of the most healthy in the UK.
