Please consider taking no umbrage at Randisi's weekend comment, Mr Cosgrove...your prominence in the climbing community is secure.
Randisi accounts climbing history his own sphere and protectorate...and any chronicle of merit beyond what he personally ratifies can be abstracted in ways you may deem insulting.
Indelicate comment...but I don't believe he's proceeding in wanton attempt to scorn you or injure your reputation....

I don't know him; I just looked through some of his forum posts and he signed a couple.
I wouldn't worry.
He made an "anti guidebook" comment on another thread, and I was fine with it - I don't feel the same way but people are free to have their opinion (and I may have felt the same way at one point).
He has shared his translation work on climbers from back in the 1920s/30s so he also has varied interests in climbing.

i know randy. he's an old-skool norcal boulderer out of the late seventies/early eighties generation.
seems like a good guy to me.
i havent been following st lately-- the only thing i saw was his offhand comment about coz as a footnote to climbing history. given randy's work on european alpine climbing stuff, that struck me as more nearly a comment on the calicentrism of st.
and yeah, he's in china now.

Since we're on the topic of the great Coz...I've noticed a definite lack of understanding from him since he waded into st. Specifically in regard to the noun/verb; troll. His frequent inappropriate use of this n/v is just weak.
Dude, Get a clue.

"Randisi" is one of my very best friends in the world.
He is a Gentleman and a Scholar in every sense.
He's one of the best boulderers that you've never met, and no-one's ever heard of.
Never met you Coz, but you ought not get yer panties in a wad.
Also may have been a magician in late 1800's France. Have to get back to ya on that.

The Great Randini Is/was the ESP debunker, famous for his feuds with I think Uri Geller, Kreskin among others. Maybe a play off that?
