Why don't we "bring back" those who contributed, but gradually lost interest and quietly slipped away - because of the behaviour of people like RokJox?

As Chris made clear in his video, no single poster should affect the flavor of the forum so disproportionately.
Simple as that, really.

Metrics from independent sources.
Post up, be sure to identify how you could identify the intent of those users who no longer frequent here.
I post less and less. Critical mass, as the drivel became more, and the content went away to other sites (like FB) so have I. The emotional ROI just isn't there to invest that much time wading thru stuff or doing that many TRs when the readership isn't going to be there because the politard stuff was 99 percent of the rows.
When each thread becomes laden with personal stories of climbing triumph and tragedies with a Mussy Nebulae or two thrown in to watch the old guys go off the deep end, I'll be back more often for sure. Please calculate that in. thx.

Why don't you send him an email and ask him, rather than spray verbal diarrhea upon us all?

RJ should come back.
We don't get along but I liked reading his crazy rants.
Plus, we had some epic arguments.
Come on back, Roxjox.

The Evaporative Cooling Effect
The people who most want to meet people are the people who the least number of people want to meet. The people who are the most desperate to date are those who the least number of people want to date. The people who are the most eager to talk are the ones who the least number of people are interested in hearing. It is the ignorance of this fundamental principle that I see at the heart of so many failed social software designs. This is what I call the Evaporative Cooling problem and one I believe must absolutely be tackled head on by the designers of any communal gathering product unless they want to see their product descend into a squalid lump of mediocrity.
