I don't know any climber here that has nice hands. Most have cracked skin splints and messed up nails followed by caked chalk in cuticles.
This is definitely an enhancement. Every woman likes some battle scars. Actually, now that you mention it, I have had the experience of those type of hands running all over my body and the hands were definitely scratchy, but they were very nice masculine hands.
When i say nice hands, I mean manly, rugged, thick, you probably have witnessed the masculine hands as a recurring phenomena among your climber pals.
