Tom, always cool to see the Moon shots. Nice shot also of the solo on Mescalito with the trees framing the picture.

Thanks Tom. IT was a record 113 in Los Angeles today. Since 1877, when records began, there.

Hey Tom,
Awesome pics of the moon. I remember seeing the same thing last year. Sorry to hear that Dave Turner has hurt his ankle. Heal up quick - milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream etc...
Happy birthday to your son. Always a special day when our kids pass another year. Good to see the Koreans back down at the bridge. Too bad their plans didn't work out, but knowing when to run away is important. Nice pic of the group. Tom, I had an email from Chris Bevins (British Chris) about a month ago and he said he was planning to be in the valley in Sept. Have you seen him?
Also, if you get a chance please ask the South Africa solo on Mescalito (Andrew Porter) if he knew David Davies. David was a close friend who I climbed the Nose with in '83. David passed away at home in Hout Bay (just outside Cape Town) about 3 weeks ago after a battle with brain cancer. He was 50 years old. I'm sure Andrew knew David as the climbing community is quite small and David was well known having done a lot of climbing in the Alps, Yosemite and Patagonia. Thanks again for the continued great reporting and pics.
Cheers,
Doug
