I just got through archiving about 60 slides I had misplaced in a couple of carousels amongst my hummocks of stuff. I have several threads to do with them. This is the first.

I got to climb with Molly and Larry a couple of years ago when they came down for Harry Kent's wedding in the Springs. It was great to see them and re-connect. They're living up in Kalispell and lovin' life.

Peter, where do they live? Just curious because I have a bunch of relatives who live in that area (Fortine, Whitefish, Trego, Eureka) and was wondering if they might know Molly now. I never met her personally but did follow her climbing exploits. The pic of her and Bev and Sybil (?) after the nose is classic. Anyway it's a very small world up there and maybe they have run into my family.

Great photos. And great hairdo you had back in those days Peter!
As mentioned before, I took Molly and Barb on their first climb in the Valley back in the fall of 1973after we all taught at Colorado Outward Bound - a 5.6 chimney. How they progressed in the two years after that!

Molly and Larry are awesome people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Showed up at Devils tower 6 or 7 weeks ago. Larry wussed out on Hollywood and vine, Molly promptly went up and sent!!!!!!!!! I was guiding and on the same belay ledge as them. Then they came over to Franks and had dinner with us. First time I had met them but I was in awe..... I can only hope that my lady and I are that in love and that bad ass at that age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Molly Higgins, one of my heroes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Simon, it's 25 ft of 1" tubing. It just looks like a single wrap because it is tidy there.

I remember doing a wrap with that but I was never so tidy! From a physics standpoint it seems lke a stack of 1" tub only acts as a single wrap on your spine... I used to spread it out so it was more like 3" across the back. At least I used to pretend it was more comfy on raps and falls.
Either way, it's a long way from my $140 Catholic-wafer-thin Arc'teryx harness I use now.

God that was funny! Yeah I normally spread it it out too but it often would jus stack back together . This was in the era between hand-tied swami belts and the harnesses of today.

Hi, I met Molly in the Pamirs in 1974, she was a member of a US team, while I was a member of an English team attending the international meet that year.
I remember Molly was the first American to set foot on the summit of Pic Lennin. We became good friends, climbing a 3000ft ice climb together during the meet. We met again during 1980, in Boulder, Colorado where she lived with her partner Larry Bruce?
It would be nice to make contact again after all these years, if anyone can help me out?
